Issues Related to DDA

What is a DDA and How it Works?

DDA (Dynamic Dialing Administrator) is a TEK DigiTel proprietary  GateKeeper. If you want to make call without using a 3rd party GateKeeper, you must have a DDA configured on your V-Server. A DDA either can be a regular V-Server or a PC based DDA. Configuring a V-Server to as a DDA will not effect its regular function. DDA keeps a list of V-Servers (DDC) registered to it and user can view the list from the V-Server's Phone Book. When a call is initiated from a V-Server (DDC), DDA will look into its list and return the destination unit's information (IP address, etc) to the caller. Caller will use the information to locate the destination unit.

the PC-based DDA also provides a Web based user interface for an administrator or user to check information related to an ITSP, a group or a unit. CDR (Call Detail Report) is also available through the web interface.

For more information on the DDA, please read the next FAQs or refer to the user manual.

How Many iGATEs a DDA Can Handle?

The iGATE based DDA (DDA itself is also an iGATE) can administrate up to 100 units (Including itself ). The PC based DDA can support up tp 10,000 units.

How Can I Configure a DDA on My Unit?

You can configure the DDA on your unit from the 'Phone Numbering Plan (part 2)' found under the 'Phone Numbering Plan' subfolder under the 'Configuration Profile' folder on the V-Express. Enter the DDA IP address and the group ID. Please contact your vendor or TEK DigiTel directly if you don't have these information.
