How Can I Run the "ping" or "tracert" Command from the V-Server?

Using the V-Express to log into the V-Server.

Either of the following way will do:

1. Click on the "Controls" folder and select the "Ping" or "Trace Route" folder. Enter the IP address for the command.
2. Click on the "Tools" menu from the top menu and select "Command Line". Type "ping ipaddress" or "tracert ipaddress" in the narrow box on the bottom of the command line screen and hit "Enter" key.

You also can run these commands by connecting to the V-Server through "Hyper Terminal" or other terminal software.

In most case, a LAN or service provider assigns IP address dynamically by using DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). So go to the "Ethernet" folder and check the "DHCP" option "on" from the V-Express will turn on the DHCP Client in the V-Server and the V-Server will have a IP address dynamically assigned by the DHCP server on the LAN or from the ISP.

How Do I Configure the PC Name (Host Name) Provided by the Cable Company in the V-Server?

User can enter the PC name in the "Host Name" field under the "Networking" folder of the configuration profile in the V-Express.

What Type of Ethernet Connection (10BaseT or 100BaseT) is Available for the Product?

10 BaseT. V-Server will not work with a 100BaseT network.
